Greif Egypt, earlier known as Van Leer Egypt, is a limited liability Co. (L.L.C) that was established in 1992. The establishment was a partnership between Van Leer Packaging (75%) and Eng. Ayman Korra (25%).

In July 1994 Van Leer Egypt was awarded the United Nation (UN) Certificate for large drums. Following that, Van Leer Egypt was granted the ISO 9002 certificate in March 1995. Van Leer Egypt was one of the first companies in Egypt and in the local packaging industry to obtain an ISO 9002 certificate. In 2001 Van Leer packaging was acquired by Greif Inc. worldwide & the company name became Greif Egypt (L.L.C.)

At Grief Egypt we manufacture standard steel drums that are used to transport materials for industries such as chemical, paint, lube oil. They also manufacture conical drums that are used in food sector to transport tomato and fruit paste. With great efforts and dedication, Greif Egypt is now the market leader in Egypt.

Greif Egypt is a great example for lean management, where everything works smoothly and efficiently. As safety is a top priority, safety standards are strictly in place and taken very seriously.

For more than 30 years the partnership between Greif multinational and Eng. Korra has been mutually profitable, reflecting the ongoing success of their joint venture and the credibility of both parties.

Egypt supported the whole North Africa and Middle Eastern region, offering its support and technical experience to the factories located nearby. The primary catalyst for that was because of Greif’s Egypt extensive and remarkable knowledge, know-how and familiarity in the field. They have extensively helped in countries such as Saudi Arabia and Algeria.

Greif Inc. has put sustainability in action and for that Greif receives Gold Recognition from EcoVadis due to their ongoing commitment to sustainability and corporate social Responsibility. As well as Greif Inc. named to Newsweek’s list of the top 100 global most loved workplaces for 2023.
